Advising

I advise early-stage teams building AI-native learning products -- drawing on experience shipping consumer AI at scale, founding and exiting an ed-tech company, and a decade working at the intersection of technology and education.

What I bring

AI product at scale

Shipped consumer AI features to tens of millions of users at Audible -- including personalized recaps, immersive audio experiences, and content intelligence systems. Now leading AI learning products at Coursera. I know what it takes to move AI from prototype to production in high-stakes consumer environments.

Ed-tech founder who's been there

Founded Bansho, a K-12 learning platform that reached $1M ARR before acquisition. I understand the full arc -- from zero to product-market fit, through fundraising, through exit. I can speak to founders from the inside, not just from a framework.

Education from the ground up

Two years teaching middle school math in Baltimore through Teach for America. Master of Science in Education from Johns Hopkins. I bring a practitioner's understanding of how learning actually works -- which most product people in ed-tech lack entirely.

Where I'm most useful

AI-native learning products Consumer product strategy Activation and retention
Fundraising narrative Hiring your first PMs Go-to-market framing
Enterprise ed-tech K-12 content plays Pre-product stage

Purple = strongest fit  ·  Teal = good fit  ·  Coral = outside my zone

How I engage

1 call/mo

60-min strategic session

Async

Feedback on docs, decks, decisions

~10 hrs

Max per month, per company

Compensation

Cash retainer

$1,500 - $2,500/month depending on stage and scope

Equity

0.1 - 0.25% vesting over 24 months, for the right early-stage fit

Hybrid

Reduced cash + reduced equity -- preferred for post-seed companies where both sides want skin in the game

Right fit looks like

Post-seed to Series B, with a working product and real users

Building AI-native learning experiences -- not just AI-washed content delivery

Founder who wants a thinking partner, not a name on a cap table

Consumer or prosumer focus -- B2C or PLG motion with B2B upsell

I take on a maximum of two advisory relationships at a time to make sure I can actually show up. If this feels like a fit, I'd rather start with a conversation than a formal process -- reach out and we'll figure out from there whether it makes sense.
